Response to global events: Gaza, Israel, Palestine, & Hamas

·

An act of egregious terror occurred over a week ago. This overwhelming act of terrorism… it’s like a storm.

Hurricanes and tornadoes do not have orchestrations. Hamas has orchestrators.

What they did was wrong. Hamas is an extremist totalitarian religious regime that should not have power in Gaza.

But, to the state of Isreal, I caution…

Do not let blind rage and vengeance lead you down the rabbit hole of endless war and suffering that 9/11 did for the U.S.

20 years of war creates nothing but enemies. And you lose in the end.

Take the blow. Help the people who did not bomb you. Go in with bandages, books, and love.

And when Hamas speaks against you, the people you helped will cry out. “THEY DID NOT BOMB US! THEY DID NOT HATE US!”

… be the friend in the fog of war. Most people in Gaza just live there. Some have lived in hiding. Hamas does not believe in sex equality. Hamas does not acknowledge LGBTQ+ identities and rights.

But Benjamin Netanyahu encouraged the funding of Hamas to divide the Palestinian state…

(How is this not your own policy coming back to bite you in the ass, Ben?)

Hamas is a terrorist organization that should be hunted and neutralized with extreme prejudice. I am not siding with Hamas. But I am voicing a need for restraint and prudence on the part of Israel.

You win this war, Isreal, with bandages instead of bombs.

xoxo
